Intentional building

Simply ask Scout what you’re looking for, and it will gather the necessary data and to then build the end output.
We recommend being specific on the specific data and type of output (e.g. report, dashboard, or a general website).
Step 1: Research
Depending on the complexity of the request and associated data, Scout will either conduct standard or deep research. If your request is a good candidate for deep research, you will see an option selector that looks as follows:

Regular research

Regular research generally takes anywhere from 1-5 minutes and involves a combination of:
Web search: This involves searching the web just as if you were browsing topics yourself. Each search has multiple results, and typically Scout will conduct a few searches unless it’s trying to find something with a direct answer, such as “what year was electricity invented?”.
Web scrape: This involves looking at specific websites, such as if you’re conducting competitor analysis or simply gathering intelligence from active websites.

You can see the result of each tool on the right-hand side.
Deep research

Deep research generally takes 10+ minutes and it involves conducting many searches along with a thorough reasoning and summarization based on a more open-ended or complex task.
Step 2: Output

Finally, Scout will put together the final output which utilizes any relevant data. Research-based outputs will include a citations section at the bottom.

Iterations

You can iterate on, or modify, an existing solution simply by asking Scout for a change on a specific version, as shown in the image above.
Example: “I like version 1. Please use that one and make the text blue instead of green”.
